The Mayor of Gdansk in cooperation with the Fahrenheit Universities have created Fahrenheit scholarships for the best three PhD students from abroad. The Gdansk-born world class physicist, engineer and the creator of a temperature scale used in many countries all over the world was chosen to present the vision of Gdansk as an open and ambitious city which invests in science.
We encourage young scientists who are preparing a doctoral dissertation at your university, are the authors or joint authors of a scientific publication and wish to pursue their scientific interests at one of Polish leading universities to take advantage of the offer.
Important dates – 5th edition:
- application deadline: June 15, 2026
- deadline for announcement of competition results: September 20, 2026
- internship period: from 1 January to 31 December 2027
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAMME:
- undertaking a year’s internship at one of the Fahrenheit Universities
- conducting interdisciplinary research as part of your PhD dissertation
- covering travel costs up to PLN 6,500
- scholarship at PLN 6,500 (net) per month
- providing accommodation
- gaining international experience
- making new contacts.
